Philip’s College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, and how to apply.

This program’s emphasis is on the general concentration, including abdominal, Obstetrical, and Gynecological sonography. Upon completion of this program, the student will be eligible to sit for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDM(S) exam, to become a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdominal and/or Obstetrics and Gynecology Sonography Specialty and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Sonography ARRT(S) exam, to become a Registered Technologist – Sonography (RT(S)). To prepare competent entry-level general sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. At all times, a Sonographer displays and maintains all work ethics in accordance with the standards established by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. As such, a Sonographer is responsible for appropriate and quality patient care. A Sonographer works in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, offices, clinics. Among a sonographer’s duties are obtaining and reviewing a patient’s medical history and clinical data, recording, and processing sonographic images, providing patient education related to medical ultrasound and promoting the principles of good health.
